The writing hits a gentle, observational note that’s neither overly saccharine nor cynical. We appreciated how the book walks us through acknowledging the absurd without skipping the genuine warmth in moments of unexpected grace. Its seasonal sections are particularly clever, grounding the humor in the rhythm of the year. While the笑 (笑 is Taiwanese for laugh) may be more understated than爆炸式 (which is Taiwanese for explosive), the clarity of perspective on navigating opposites is refreshing. It’s more of a thoughtful companion than an endless laugh riot, fitting for life itself.
